300 000 har sett min första video

Då var det dags för ännu ett egotrippat och självförhärligande jubileum. Precis som vid tidigare tillfällen gäller det min mycket anspråkslösa video/bildspel till calypsolegenden Mighty Sparrows hyllningssång till Barack Obama Den har nu setts av sammanlagt över 300 000 besökare på Tuben och DailyMotion

Förra gången jag uppmärksammade videon på bloggen var vid "en kvarts miljon"-jubileet den 17 oktober. Det var för 25 dagar sedan, vilket innebär att i genomsnitt har 2000 besökare per dygn sett den sedan dess. Det blir...*räknar*...drygt ett(1) besök per minut. Rekordet var 28 februari då videon hade över 15 000 besök under ett dygn enbart på Tuben.

Visst är jag odrägligt självupptagen :-)

Estradpoet, slam eller dub poet, är olika benämningar på poeter som reciterar sina dikter inför publik, ibland till musik. Ett par av mina stora favoriter i genren är dub poeterna Linton Kwesi Johnson och Mutabaruka Här i Uppsala är vi stolta över vår Kung Henry

För ett par dagar sedan hörde jag första gången poeten Heru född i Ghana men sedan länge bosatt i USA. Han arbetade i flera år som advokat men bestämde sig för att hoppa av och ägna sig åt poesi. Han presenterar sig själv i videon.


Inför årets presidentval i USA har Heru, som så många andra, skrivit en text om Barack Obama. Men han är ingen okritisk supporter av Obama. Tvärtom. I dikten Barack Obama is Septimius Severus: Change you can believe in riktar han hård kritik mot Obama och liknar honom vid den förste kjesaren i Rom av afrikanskt ursprung, Lucius Septimius Severus (145 - 211)

Precis som vicepresidentkandidaten Joe Biden är jag helt ovetande om vem som skrivit journalistens frågor, men det kan inte varit någon av de skarpaste hjärnorna på tv-redaktionen - hoppas jag. Undrar vad Reinfeldt och alliansen tycker om den avslutande frågan.

30 minuter med Barack Obama

På bästa sändningstid visades igår en 30 minuters informativ kampanjfilm för Barack Obama i amerikansk TV. Journalisten George Stephanopoulos skriver att "this was a very highly produced, technically incredibly competent half hour of television. It was all designed to get voters comfortable with the idea of Barack Obama
in the Oval Office". ABC News

McCains mobb

För första gången någonsin har jag med stort intresse följt valrörelsen i USA. Tidigare har jag tyckt att det i stort sett inte hade någon betydelse vem som blev vald till president, politiken blev ändå i grunden den samma. Den här gången tycker jag att det åtminstone finns en det-minst-dåliga-alternativet-kandidat.

Det demokratiska nomineringsvalet av presidentkandidat var en utdragen rysare mellan Clinton och Obama. Och nu presidentvalet. Före den första tv-debatten var läget ungefär 50-50 mellan Obama-McCain, men efter varje debatt ökade stödet för Obama. Några veckor före valet visade flera väljarundersökningar en 10-procentig ledning för demokraternas kandidat.

När McCain inte lyckades få stöd för sin politik återstod bara ett alternativ - smutskastning. I kommentarer på bloggar och i diskussionsforum har McCains mobb spytt galla och gång på gång upprepat lögner om Obama. Det har varit en riktig obehaglig kampanj som fått näring ur både McCains och Sarah Palins många vettlösa uttalanden.



Pastor Rod Parsley var en av dem som tidigt uttalade sitt stöd för John McCain, men drog senare tillbaka det. Han tyckte förmodligen att McCain var alldeles för hovsam.

Stort stöd för Obama i Kina

Amerikanska ambassaden i Beijing, Kina, hade nyligen en omröstning på hemsidan för China Daily för att se vilken presidentkandidat i USA som hade störst stöd bland kineserna. Barack Obama fick 75 procent av rösterna. I Kina bor ungefär 1/5 av världens befolkning.

I september gjordes en liknande omröstning i 22 länder och resultatet blev att 49 procent ville se Obama som USA:s näste president. McCain fick endast 12 procent av rösterna.

Med tanke på USA:s dominerande ställning inom världspolitiken kanske det amerikanska presidentvalet borde avgöras genom en världsomfattande omröstning där amerikaner inte fick delta.

Sarah Palin i Dead Parrot

Det här med att klippa och klistra i andras videos har nästan blivit någon slags mani hos mig. Trots att jag aldrig blir nöjd med resultatet så fortsätter jag, men kanske jag en dag blir någorlunda tillfreds om jag inte ger upp.

Det är väl som med den vilsekomna turisten i London som frågade:

- Hur kommer jag till Albert Hall?
- Öva, öva och fortsätt öva.

Aaron Tippin: Drill here, drill now

I dagens väljarundersökning från CBS News och The New York Times leder Barack Obama med 14 procent över John McCain, 53-39. Här på bloggen är siffrorna just nu 92-8 till Obamas fördel. Om du vill satsa en slant på Obama hos Expekt är oddset 1,1, en seger för McCain ger 5,4.

I natt är det dags för sista debatten mellan Obama och McCain, efter de tidigare debatterna har stödet för Obama ökat. Det ser riktigt mörkt ut för McCain och hans älgburgare från Alaska, som någon elak person kallade Sarah Palin.

Endast några få artister har skrivit kampanjsånger för McCain och när han "lånar" någon äldre sång har den ena efter den andra artisten förbjudet honom att använda den. Tidigare har jag bara lyckats hitta en bra sång till stöd för McCain.

Jag sparkar aldrig på någon som ligger. Det är hög tid att ge McCain lite vind i seglen. Jag postar en sång till stöd för honom, rockig honky-tonk country med Aaron Tippin som backar upp McCains energi- och miljöpolitik. Tippin har framfört sången vid flera av Palins kampanjmöten. En riktigt bra låt, även om jag har vissa invändningar mot budskapet.

Valet i USA: Obama 53 - McCain 43

Jag har klippt ihop en video från olika källor om Obama och Afrika.

Enligt den senaste väljarundersökningen (pdf) från ABC News och Washington Post, som publicerades i dag, leder Barack Obama över John McCain med 10 procent, 53 mot 43. Inte sedan man i USA 1936 började med moderna opinionsundersökningar har det inträffat att en presidentkandidat med sådan stor ledning har förlorat valet.

Av undersökningen framgår också att 73 procent av befolkningen ogillar president Bushs nuvarande politik, vilket är det högsta missnöjesresultat som någonsin uppmätts. Inte ens president Richard Nixon kom upp i dessa siffror under den så kallade Watergate-skandalen.

Enligt en opinionsundersökning av CNN vann Obama gårdagens debatt med 54 procent mot McCains 30. CBS fick siffrorna 40-26
till Obamas fördel.
